Working on the demonstration painting to be auctioned. You can see the BIG Portofino painting in the background.
What fun we had at my Twentieth Anniversary Show over the Labor Day weekend! Polly, Chano, Roberta, Mary, Phyllis, Darrell and Taryn went all out to make this a memorable time for Jack and me. The gallery was filled with Senkarik collectors from all over the United States. Frankly I was overwhelmed. It was so wonderful to see longtime collectors who have become friends over the years. We got to meet many collectors for the first time as well as welcome some new collectors to Team Senkarik. I was so thrilled that several of my blog readers attended. Some of them are writing a book together. We even got to meet the wife of one of the producer/writers for our favorite TV Series, The Closer. I was nice and didn’t ask her to reveal the season ending. But I can’t vouch for Jack. All in all it was incredibly heartwarming, we were amazed. Please remember, if you would like to see any of these pictures enlarged, just click on the image.
Saturday evening we had a private collector event. After everyone got to visit awhile we drew names to present special gifts to a few lucky attendees. Then we auctioned two paintings, the demo painted in the gallery and a larger, Mediterranean piece.
Betty and Mike Mares won the demonstration painting, Southwest Ambiance.
The high bidders for Mediterranean Inspiration were Sandy and Richard Millican.
New Team Senkarik members Lauren and Mark Hayden.
Jack visiting with California Collectors, Bruce and Lettie Pope.
There was LOTS of hugging going around. Jack’s about to get one from Karen Bayless.
Bob and Cheryl Shoun drove in from Tucson. You can see a couple of their pieces behind us.
The last time we heard from our collectors Gary and Pat Gerber they were in the middle of a glacier in Alaska on a 120 day motor-coach trip through that beautiful state. Imagine our surprise when we ran into them on the street in Santa Fe! Of course we invited them to join in the fun. Gary and I are in front of the BIG Portofino painting, Breathtaking Retreat.
Texas Team Senkarik Members, James and Tanya Chadwick were also celebrating their anniversary and decided to add Serene Moment to their collection.
Lynne and Mitch Coppedge were the catalyst for the gallery event. Last year they were talking with Polly and said they would enjoy meeting other Senkarik collectors. So that is how this all got started. And…. they were also celebrating their anniversary!
Ray and Jan Dane are from Joshua, Texas where Jack graduated from High School as an Owl! Now I know where Jack’s wisdom came from. Ray and Jan have been collectors for a long time but this was the first time we got to meet them.
Rett and Claire Porter were on the motor-coach trip with the Gerbers. They joined us and selected Twice the Spice to be part of their collection.
Jack and I had a fabulous time the entire weekend. I wish we had been able to get pictures with each of you and the time was all to short to get a proper visit with everyone. We want to extend a Big, Texas MUCH OBLIGED to every single one of you who made this such a magical time for us in Santa Fe.
Hugs, Mikki and Jack
