Don’t you just love Sunflowers? They are so cheerful and happy, how can you not smile when you see them? For my eBay auction this week I’m combining three different pictures of these bright blooms from our garden into a painted bouquet. I’m working on an ACEO, the challenge will be to fit them into the miniature format, 3 1/2 inches by 2 1/2 inches.

My first step is to make a sketch, providing me with a road map to follow as I paint. As a little something special for this auction we are GIVING the original pen and ink sketch to the winner. This is a piece of art suitable for framing. That’s right, the winning bidder will receive two original Senkarik artworks!

Painting the background with various mixes of Pthalo Blue + White is the next step. Then, after the foliage is blocked in, I paint the sunny yellow blossoms.
