Our Jack White

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Yesterday Heaven welcomed a master artist and amazing writer; Jack has gone home to Our Lord. At 83, Jack’s mind was sharper than ever but his body gave in to the ravages of time. Since a stroke 2 years ago he has been on blood thinners. The past few days they’ve whirled out of control, my best friend and mentor began bleeding. In the hospital he was given several transfusions and seemed to recover a bit. While under anesthesia, during a colonoscopy to discover the source of the bleeding, Jack vomited and aspirated the fluid into his lungs. His body gave out, Jack went into respiratory arrest and was put on life support. We decided long ago that if either of us had to be kept “Alive” with artificial means it was time to let go and let God take over. Yesterday we did just that; Jack’s last moments were peaceful and quiet. He is no longer plagued by a body that is suffering, no longer distressed by overwhelming feelings of helplessness caused by having to depend on me to do everything for him.

I can imagine all of the artists in Heaven have flocked around him to learn from his vast experiences, get pointers on their work and discover the joys of using his Double Primary Color Mixing System. He is writing freely and happily, unencumbered by stiff and uncooperative fingers. Jack has helped so many of us here on earth. I know I would never have become the person I am today without him in my life. God has truly blessed me to have Jack as a partner for 26 years. We will all miss this talented man, his storytelling and infectious laugh. But as incredibly hard as it is to give Jack up I know he’s in a better place and whole again.

Thanks to all of you for being there for us over these many years. With love and hugs, Mikki and Jack signature JPEG

Jack will be fondly remembered by multitudes and according to Ecclesiastes 7:1,2,…..that’s what counts! Mikki,

Yesterday I finished reading one of Jack’s books. I wrote to both of you right after. For some reason my email is not sending messages. I did not know he was no longer with us on earth. He was so close as i read his words. The email is in my outbox still unsent. I have copied it below.

    “Hello Jack and Mikki!

I just want to let you both know what a blessing it has been to know of you. I am learning how to paint and while on youtube looking for information a lady mentioned the mystery of making it by Jack White. I immediately bought it. I just finished it. I’m so inspired by your stories and the wealth of knowledge you have shared. I love Senkarik!! Your paintings Mikki make me tear up with joy. It really does. My husband knows i have been wanting to paint so about a month ago he surprised me with a corner set up with an easel, all colors of paints, canvases and brushes with a vase filled with flowers. That night he told me that he wanted me to receive that gift of paints as a gift not only from him, but from God. He made me cry. Im learning little by little. I made this one for my mom for mothers day. I found a picture i liked and tried to paint it. I know that to develope a voice that is probably not the best idea. Anyways, Thanks so much for exisiting. You both are a blessing!! Just wanted to let you know. ”

We will see him in heaven!

    • Mikki Senkarik Says:

      Dear Shakira,
What a wonderful email, WOW. THANK YOU so much! I appreciate your kind words more than you can ever realize. And I know Jack is smiling in Heaven knowing his book has helped you and given you encouragement. You have such a loving husband, he is a true blessing. Please, always feel free to ask questions as you learn to paint. Jack and I believe God gave us such a gift in allowing us to celebrate His Beauty on canvas that it’s our duty to help fellow artists along the way. And YES, we’ll all meet up one day in Heaven. God Bless You, Mikki
