Mallorcan Courtyard Floor

First of all, I’m safe and sound, God spared us from any damage by Hurricane Harvey. But please continue to keep those who were hit harder in your hearts and prayers. OK, my paint is mixed and we’re ready to start on the floor. #1. Two shades of Cadmium Orange + Pthalo Blue + White. #2. A couple of blues from the ocean. #3. All the rest of the mixtures are combinations in various proportions of MUD (Ultramarine Blue + Alizarin Crimson) + Cadmium Orange + White. Isn’t it awesome all the varieties you can obtain by mixing only 3 colors?

Here’s a closeup of the finished floor. Notice how the blues on the tiles near the back make them recede.

A little Cadmium Red Light leftover from the door is added into the floor mixes to make the terra cotta wall planters. The wrought iron brackets are then drawn into the wet paint with a mix of MUD + Liquin.

A large square container will hold the Valencia Orange. We’ll plant that in our next session, if you’ll don some gardening gloves you can help me out! HUGS,

Good to know you are safe, but it looks like the worst is yet to come by the images and newsflashes we are receiving in Australia.
