Recently I had to reframe some of my pieces that had been painted in the Gallery Wrap Style, where the painting extends over, on to the sides of the canvas.
They needed to have our Senkarik/White Signature Frame. The process required cutting my original oil paintings off the stretcher bars in order to reframe them. As I worked, I kept glancing at the beautiful painted sides, looking so lost and forlorn on the empty wood stretchers. I could almost hear their pitiful cries, “PLEEEEEZ, DON’T ABANDON US. WE WANT TO BE ADOPTED TOO! PLLLLEEEEEEEEEZZZZZZZ!”
I kept thinking there must be something I could do with them, they were paintings all on their own. These sweet babies, with my characteristic “Billboard of Happiness” flowers and colors, could still bring lots of joy to someone’s heart.
Then it came to me, “BOOKMARKS”!
My collector who owns #1 in this Series said her painting was too pretty to hide away in a book, “I have the perfect, narrow space on the wall next to a door where I’m going to hang my new Senkarik!” The collector who originated the term ‘Billboards of Happiness’ exclaimed, “They are like ‘Mini EMBRYOS’!” A third suggested calling them ‘Ribbon Paintings’!
So I’ve decided to call my series of Bookmarks, “ON THE EDGE: Ribbons of Happiness” and offer them to my eBay Collectors! This week three are listed. AND, the BID starts at ONLY A PENNY!
