Aquarian Welcome

The ceramic flower pots, nestled at the base of the Wisteria, are painted with several shades of Pthalo Blue + White. Please keep in mind as you read through my blog, you may click on any of the images to see them larger.

Mixes in different combinations of Dioxazine Purple + White are used for the Wisteria. Then the foliage is made with Viridian Green + Cadmium Yellow Medium and Viridian Green + Cadmium Yellow Medium + White.

Sunlit petals on the long dangling blossoms of Wisteria are delineated with the lightest of the Dioxazine Purple + White mixtures.

The mass of Pansies, cascading out of the containers, is blocked in with colors left over from the Door and Wisteria. I’ve also included some shades of White + Ultramarine Blue and White + Pthalo Blue.

The little ‘Faces’ of the delicate Pansies are made with Dioxazine Purple + Liquin. The leaves are Lemon Yellow + Pthalo Blue.

We’re ready to add the Black Eyed Susans! Come watch…….

VIDEO DEMONSTRATION: Painting the Black Eyed Susans

The Aquarius symbol on the tile is most commonly made Blue to indicate Water. But the painting just needs a touch of Red! So I asked my collector and she said, “Go For IT!”

“Aquarian Welcome”   6 inch x 6 inch EMBRYO

The Red Waves on the Tile are a nice counterpoint to the lovely Lavenders and complementary Yellows. They all add up to a cheerful “Aquarian Welcome”! Thank you for visiting my studio! Hope you’ll come back again. With Big Hugs and Colorful Smiles,

My name is Aphrodite and I’m from Kavala,Greece.Ive been wanting to write to you for a long time to tell you how much I love your art.I appreciate many types of art and artists but your work holds a special place in my heart; your vibrant colours, beautiful seascapes, terraces, kitties ,flowers inspired me so much that at the age of 55 I picked up a brush for the first time in my life and tried to paint.
I’ve been painting for four years now, following your blog and watching your videos.Painting isnt easy but it doesnt matter because it gives me so much joy.Thank you so much for everything you do.

      Dear Aphrodite,
Your words make my heart sing. I’m so glad you’ve started painting, CONGRATULATIONS. It’s not always easy for me either but that’s all part of the joyful process. Always feel free to ask questions and thank you for following my blog, I feel honored! HAPPY PAINTING and HUGS, Mikki

    Hi Mikki,

As always I appreciate watching you paint!!!

I noticed that you use Word Press for your blog and newsletter. And that is an extra cost to you.

I use FASO for all of this: website, blog, newsletter and online workshops. They now host videos from youtube or directly from your camera.

I’m just suggesting you could save money keeping it all on one site.

Love you much!!! Again, thank you for sharing so much. Watching you paint keeps me sane in the midst of such troubling times.

    Have a blessed day! Donna

Dear Donna, thank you for your excellent advice. I use FASO for my newsletter and everything but my blog. The problem is, if I switch over I lose ALL my archived posts on WordPress. I’ve been doing this for over 10 years, lots of people like to go back and look at the old ones. It’s $50 a year but well worth it.
I appreciate your encouragement and support over the years. With Prayers and Hugs, Mikki
